These beautiful antique vases were produced in Bohemia in the Victorian period. Thees small Harrachs glass vases are just 12cms high but incredibly pretty with lovely enamel floral decoration.The Harrach or Harrachov glassworks is a long established and well known glass manufacturer that took the name its founder Alois Raimund von Harrach (Count Harrach), It was founded on his estate in Bohemia, 1712. A short while later, Elias Muller received permission from Count Harrach to operate the glassworks here. The factory was called Neuwelter Hutte, but soon after the area became the town of Harrachov. In 1764 the factory was renamed Graflich Harrach’sche Glasfabrik. Nowadays it’s referred to as Harrach when describing Victorian or earlier pieces, and Harrachov for the mid-century or later production.
