DescriptionWillie Carter pottery storage jar with lid in a retro style probably dating from the 1980s as he was producing work like this around this time. Willie Carter was born in Scotland but studied ceramics at Chesterfield Art College and then was a highly successful pottery for 25 years. He specialised in mainly thrown earthenware and each piece is individually brush decorated in warm colours, so every item is unique.This beautiful vintage studio pottery storage jar has a stunning marbled abstract glaze and is a great example of Willie Carter’s lovely British studio pottery. It’s 14cms high by 10cms wide and is in good condition and bears the makers signature, “Willie”.  It’s a find example of his beautiful style and decoration skills.
