Key Features 40% DILUTION – This oil is 40% Benzoin resin, 60% benzyl benzoate, the benzyl benzoate is used to dilute the Benzoin resin so that it is pourable, as the pure resin is a glassy solid. AROMATHERAPY– The Benzoin resin is extracted from the styrax tonkinensis tree, it has a sweet, rich, vanilla-like aroma, and is traditionally used to nourish weathered skin and steam inhalations. BODY & MIND – Benzoin is a great oil to use as part of a steam inhalation during the winter months to help clear and comfort. This rich oil is also very nourishing to dry and weathered skin. DIY TIP – As a treat for weather-worn skin, add 2 drops each of Benzoin, Lavender and Orange to a jar of un-fragranced cream or to 10ml of Sweet Almond oil and massage into skin thoroughly. ROOM FRAGRANCE – To use as a room fragrance we recommend using this oil with an oil burner instead of a diffuser due to its resinous consistency. Benzoin 40%, a nourishing and vanilla-like oil. The two main types of Benzoin are Siam (styrax tonkinensis) and Sumatra (styrax benzoin). The Sumatran type is cheaper to produce and coarser than the superior Siam type which we stock. This excellent quality Benzoin has been sustainably sourced from Siam.
